Pally's Festive Choice: Wine Vs Champagne

It's the season to be jolly... Fa la la la la la la la... With just 2 days to go, it's time to pair your drink with your meats.

When it comes to your holiday drink of choice, we should not just restrict it to the wonderful hot chocolate drinks for children, or that classic Christmas eggnog drink for adults. We didn't forget about the alcohol!

Ms. Bibi Chia, principal dietitian at Raffles Diabetes and Endocrine Centre compared calorie-wise, in one standard drink. "Wine has about 83kcal per 100ml compared with champagne's 75 kcal per 100ml."

So which is healthier? Pally's choice goes to the Champagne! Actually, we'll start with the champagne then move on to the whites and reds. Just a couple of glasses each. Kids could do a toast and get to drink their sparkly juices together!

“I'm dreaming of a white Christmas... but if white runs out I'll drink the red” - As seen on a wine label.

Pally Healthy Tip: Eat your feast before and while you sip your drink. Have a glass of water with your drink, and sip on that between your drinks. And remember quality over quantity anytime!
