Pally's Festive Choice: Mince Pies Or Gingerbread Cookies

With only 7 more days to go, your meats have been selected. Now comes the tasty part. What would X'mas be without Gingerbread cookies...

These baked delicacies are a must-have during X'mas. Though the recipes may vary, both are packed with calories and sugar. Even if some of these recipes are altered, in general, the gingerbread cookies can have more calories and sugar than mince pies.

For instance, Ms. Bibi Chia, the principal dietitian at Raffles Diabetes and Endocrine Centre quoted that mince pies can have 289kcal and 28g sugar per 100g, while gingerbread cookies can contain 381kcal and 44g sugar per 100g.

So which is healthier? Pally's choice goes to the Mince Pies! And we get to keep the traditions of Christmas alive with these pies.

Pally Healthy Tip: There is only one Christmas day a year! Just go for it that day! Gingerbread cookies or mince pies. Just one day a year!
